Simple Tips for Better Internet Marketing
We all know reputation has a lot to do with the success of a business. If your company is known as the best in the biz than you’re sales are going to soar through the roof. Why? Because the fact remains that people want to hire experts. Whether it’s an intense design and build project in which they are looking for someone to bring their landscape dreams to fruition or it’s a more routine job in which they are looking for someone to plow their driveway regularly, people want to take the stress out of worrying about the results. They want to hire someone they can trust and feel confident in. We’ve discussed this before on the blog here, the power to boost your reputation lies in your own hands. It all comes down to sharing your expertise. Luckily, in today’s technology-drive world, there are a number of ways to share your experiences and knowledge with your potential customers – and most of these possibilities come in the form of internet marketing.
Blog, blog, blog–
Use your business blog to write about your first-hand experience and knowledge in the field. You don’t have to be an established author or the best writer, that’s the beauty of a blog! It allows you to reach out to your market and converse and engage with them as if you were meeting with your prospects face to face. Keep your posts informal but remember the purpose of this exercise is to promote your credibility and further your reputation. If you’re still not entirely confident in posting your own articles, set up an interview with a writer, get involved with trade magazines and post your stories from these magazines on your blog. The goal here is to become a resource for your market.
Start tweeting –
When you start up a new business, you know you need to get the message out that you’ve opened up shop. So you send out advertisements in the mail, in the newspaper, in magazines, and you rely on satisfied customers to spread the good word. Think of twitter as your virtual advertisement and best customer all in one. When you write up a blog post, you want to tweet a message about your new post with a link to your blog article in the post. All of your twitter followers will get word of your new post and if they like what they read, they may even re-tweet it themselves, broadcasting your post to a whole new audience of viewers!
Set up a Facebook page –
Many of us already have Facebook profiles, but it is definitely worth your while to create a Facebook page for your business. Facebook has certainly put forth a great effort to make it not only a social media tool but a great asset for businesses. Facebook pages allow internet users to connect with your company by becoming a fan of your business page. When they become a fan, any updates you make to your Facebook page automatically show up in their newsfeed. Facebook pages are also indexed by search engines, which means if a potential customer is searching on Google for your business, your Facebook business page will appear at the top of their search. When they click on your Facebook page, they’ll have the option to become a fan of your page and will then be kept in the loop as you update your Facebook page. Other advantages of setting up a business Facebook page include:
- You can have an unlimited number of fans, even though you are limited to the amount of friends you can have under your profile
- You can present the option of subscribing to your newsletter, blog, etc., through an opt-in box on your page
- You can send updates to all your fans at once.
